I can't say authoritatively but I hear it's about 12:1-14:1.
Stan,
Does this help?

It depends on: kind of engine, size, company, all kinds of things.

For what it's worth... The 2008 Honda GX engine is made for CNG. This engine has a compression ratio of 12.5:1. 12.5 to 13 is pretty safe, but I don't think there would be much benefit from more. I could be wrong...:o BTW... most modern engines designed for pump gas (87) are as low as 8.5:1 to 10.5:1 on the high side.
